8-0-0 ("the game", "we", "us") is a free browser game available at 8-0-0.app. This policy explains the limited, anonymous data the game uses. We have tried to keep the game as privacy-friendly as possible.

1. Information stored on your device

To make the game work, your browser's local storage holds a few non-personal items on your device only (never sent to us in a way that identifies you):

• Your chosen language and your last completed game, so you can re-save your team image.
• Your leaderboard display name, if you chose to add one, so you do not have to re-enter it.
• A randomly generated, anonymous ID used only to count unique visitors. It is not linked to your identity and contains no personal information.

You can clear this at any time via your browser's settings (clear site data).

2. Anonymous usage statistics

We keep simple, aggregate counts of visits and unique visitors so we can see how popular the game is. These statistics are anonymous and are not used to identify or profile you. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data.

3. Leaderboard

When you win a tournament, you can choose to add a display name to our public leaderboard. This is entirely optional. If you choose to take part:

• The name you enter is stored on our servers and shown publicly on the leaderboard, alongside your in-game results (cups won, perfect 8-0-0s) and the line-up you selected for your best winning run.
• If you skip the name prompt, none of your results are stored on our servers against you.
• Please use a nickname rather than your real name or any personal information. Do not enter anything you would not want to be shown publicly.
• To have your entry removed, email hello@8-0-0.app and we will delete it.

4. Cookies and advertising

The game is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info.

5. Children

The game is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.

6. Your choices

• Opt out of personalised ads using the links in section 4.
• Ask us to remove your leaderboard entry by emailing hello@8-0-0.app.
• Block or clear cookies and local storage via your browser settings.
• Stop using the game at any time, nothing is tied to an account because there is none.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
